Questions and Answers

What can I do to help the pain and discomfort of IBS?

I have suffered for several years and the doctor says there is nothing wrong.

IBS is just a label that encompasses a range of digestive symptoms but does not address the possible causes.

There are several common factors which could be involved including a yeast overgrowth in the gut, stress and food intolerances.

If you suspect food intolerances you could try a short exclusion diet. This is usually safe for a brief time, but if the foods suspected are major food groups like dairy or wheat it is advisable to seek professional help to make sure your diet is balanced whilst excluding the foods. Food allergies are a complex subject and often involve other factors which will need addressing if any improvements are to be maintained.
