Allergy tests

FOOD INTOLERANCE AND ALLERGY  TESTING

Applies kinesiology (muscle) testing is no longer available @ Stubbington clinic.
For intolerance only, rather than true allergy, there are two tests using a finger prick blood test which you can do at home from York or Lab 21.
A kit can be sent to you by myself if you are a client or by the lab if you are not. A small supply of testing kits is available from Stubbington clinic for collection. It is important to receive the form and complete the relevant as well so the lab can link sample to patient.
A.  The Lab 21 test  identifies 5 main food groups likely to be involved. It costs £30.
If any of the foods are positive the lab will advise further testing to check if any other foods are a problem for you. This will cost £99 for 40 foods or £199 for 93 foods. However, under the guidance of the nutritionist it is often possible to effect a good reduction in symptoms by careful exclusion of the offending foods on this test before deciding if it is worth proceeding to more expensive testing
.

B.   York labs do a similar test for £20 giving a negative or positive result If positive you then need to progress to 113 foods @ further £230

You can do 76 foods (via practitioner only) @ £150 (NB: you cannot do an indicator test prior to this option) Details of foods included in these tests are available.

C.   There are also tests which include true allergy and food intolerance, but these require a full blood draw from a trained practitioner. They can be discussed with the nutritionist if preferred. Costs are around £245 plus possible phlebotomy (blood taking) charges.

I would point out that there is always a cause of allergy and intolerance and identifying the foods is only part of the story. Allergies are a symptom not a cause.

There may be gut infections which have damaged the intestinal mucosa making it ‘leaky’ and this would need addressing with expert guidance for a full long term recovery

If you would like a consultation before making a decision as to whether allergy testing is the best option for you or after any testing to discuss the results and what underlying factors may be involved for your individual situation, please make an appt to see the nutritionist @ Stubbington Natural Health Clinic on 01329 665871 or for Chandler's Ford appts. ring 023 8027 5646 or see the nutritionist's own website www.nutritionfirst.co.uk .

A consultation with the nutritionist can sometimes prevent the need for any tests and save you money.

During a consultation with the nutritionist she will also be able to advise on controlled exclusion diets if you prefer to keep the cost down and avoid tests.

Full instructions come in any test kit supplied Please send no money with the blood samples as the labs will invoice Sally and monies are payable to Sally by post or at the consultation for the results.
